Raw Peace

The sonic equivalent of a rabid pitbull on a rusty chain in an echoing, dirty back alley.

Some Hypertension staffers grew up at a stone’s throw of the Eben-Emael fort. This inactive fortress, built in the 1930’s, is notorious for the events of May 10th 1940. A small team of German paratroopers took control of the fort’s artillery in just 15 minutes.

Now, in 2018, we have found the perfect soundtrack to this event. RAW PEACE’s first full length, TOTAL DEATH takes about as long as the attack lasted. Lyrically, Raw Peace picks at the festering wounds of the human psyche: war, abuse of power, state control, violence, human nature, genocide and paranoia are a bloodred thread that runs through the 10 tracks that feel like a precision bombing.

The band wears its musical influences like fraying sew on patches. Mixing the best 1980’s Scandinavian crust (Kaaos, No Security, Rattus) with old Jap-core (Zouo, G.I.S.M., Confuse) and the new wave of hardcore (Warthog, S.H.I.T.) to form an explosive Molotov cocktail.
